4. Blended Colours
The Company will offer lake colours, which are very popular synthetic food colours. Lake
colours are not only used for foods but are also used in a variety of other industries like
pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, inks, and plastic food containers, among others. Lake food colours
are essentially pigments—popular as lake pigments—as their colouring is achieved by the
dispersion of colours that have different concentrations.
Lake colours are made by combining dyes with salts to get insoluble compounds. Lake colours
undergo tinting through dispersion. Lake colours, though not soluble in oil, demonstrate dispensability. In comparison to food dyes, lake food
colours exhibit greater stability. They prove to be optimal for colouring food items that consist
of fats and oils, as well as those lacking adequate moisture for dye dissolution. Lake colours find
common usage in various products such as coated tablets, cake and doughnut mixes, hard
candies and chewing gums, lipsticks, soaps, shampoos, and talc.
